Let Them Conclude
by Rollo Nye

When I die
when I go
fill my sarcophagus up
with almonds
so that I will have plenty to eat
in the afterlife.

And place beside my corpse
a photograph of me in my prime
so that I will remember how I once looked
should I care when all spirit.

And when aliens dig up the earth,
investigating those who had come before,
may they have the capacity to re-image
from the resulting carbon footprint,
my very essence,
and conclude that mankind
had surely emerged
from a tree nut!
