Learning Abroad

Geranium-filled planters line all the windows;
pink and red ruffles dance in the July breeze.
Tiny purple flowers border the walkways and rows of
pink hydrangeas line the fronts of the dormitories.
Patio-style tables and chairs fill the glass-covered atrium
where books are being read, lessons are being studied,
and students struggle to carry on conversations in a
foreign tongue during a typical afternoon in paradise.
