TOD
by Chris Crittenden

dawn spills through his irises
like pixie wings.
his eyes twin thimbles
brimming with glow.
daises crane
to tickle his ribs.
a dragonfly’s caper
grazes a boyish smile.
long shadows bow to his repose.
sunset’s warmth
hugs his stubborn
elation.
moon and cloud
take their moments too.
rasps from a nighthawk.
the mortuary laugh
of an owl.
