Murder of Crows
by Erin Brown
|
When a crow falls
the others follow the scent
of darkness
a murder swoops in
raging at the dying of the light
shrieking cries
a razor splitting the air
sorrow splayed
like bones plied from flesh
dropping bits of grass, leaves
and bark over the shadow of the soul
the whole world
a shroud
