Perfection
by Lathe Bawcum
|
I sit, as the sun licks the horizon
smiling into the distance
without care
my sister by my side, we absorb it all
The trees
birds
gorgeous view off into beyond
For a moment
a single moment
the world is perfect
No angry friend
no parents mad at undone chores
no promises to keep.
once again I am a little kid
And the world is perfect.
But it disappears
and drama comes back
responsibilities dock in the harbor
and I remember one very important thing.
The world can not be what we most want it to be.
