To the Unknown Voice
by Neil Ellman
|
(after the painting by Wassily Kandinsky)
Barely heard
above the clamor
of competing choruses
in shapeless robes
__Babel-words
at odds with themselves
the universe
at odds
with the shape of sound
__as words
barely audible
almost comprehensible
the promise of creation
speaking in a voice
we scarcely know. | |
