hot dreams
by Jordan A Rothacker

aching for the shore
on night’s far side
she swims out of reach
without warning I’m alone
cast on linen dunes
I touch her wet nightgown
her screams are mumbles
across waves to me
waxing jealous of her afloat
what dreams without me
she obtains alone
splashing with Morpheus and Erebus
possessed and possessing in
the dry waking life
hot dreams ferry no dominion
