Bitter Fruit
by Jean McLeod
|
I am crushed
by the weight of your absence;
ruined by silence;
frozen by tears
icicling down my face.
Was it her dark and snapping eyes,
her supple smile,
her sliding hips—
or just that she didn’t have
your children
to take her attention
from you?
